The China Postdoctoral Science Foundation was established in 1985 on the initiative of Chinese-American physicist Li Zhengdao and approved by Deng Xiaoping. It is set up specially by the state to provide scientific and research funds for postdoctoral researchers, encouraging outstanding postdoctoral scholars to engage in innovative studies during their working time in the station. The funding system plays an irreplaceable role in implementing the strategy of strengthening the country through talents, cultivating postdoctoral professionals with innovative capability, and building a team of high-level postdoctoral talents.
