On June 6th, Mr. Luo Linquan, vice president of China Public Diplomacy Association, was invited to visit CFL. He presented a lecture on “International Situation and Art of Diplomacy” for our teachers and students.

He employed precise figures and vivid examples to illustrate the great changes in international system, economy, technology, relations, and rules and came to the conclusion that China was at a critical period. Since most students were quite concerned about the diplomatic relations between china and the USA, he reviewed the history of Sino-US diplomatic relations and analyzed the future relations under the Trump administration. Then he shared what he had experienced working on the diplomatic front for so many years and emphasized that diplomacy was naurally political. He encouraged the youth audience to work hard to be outstanding diplomats one day. Mr. Luo’s speech won him rounds of applause for his humorous language and sharp analysis.

Before the lecture, Zou Yujie, party secretary of CFL, and Prof. Yan Guodong, dean of CFL, had a meeting with Mr. Luo, who expressed his heartfelt congratulations on the 100th anniversary of Nankai University. He said that NKU was great in cultivating premier Zhou Enlai, who had made great contributions to China. Mrs. Zou and prof. Ma thanked him for coming to CFL and presenting a wonderful lecture, and expressed their sincere hope to strengthen cooperation with the Public Diplomacy Association in country and region studies.

These years CFL has always attached great importance to international vision as well as patriotic moralities, and a group of graduates chose to work for diplomacy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese foreign embassies.

It is reported that Luo Linquan has been engaged in diplomatic work for a long time. He has once served as Director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Chinese Republic of Greece, Ambassador of China to Ireland, and Consul General of China in San Francisco.
