Students from Nankai University Achieved Excellence in Tianjin Competition in NECCS


On May 20th, the finals of 2018 National English Competition for College Students (NECCS) in Tianjin was held in Nankai University. The finals were divided into three groups: graduate students, English majors, and non-English majors. After the preliminary competition, more than 70 students were selected from colleges and universities in Tianjin to compete in the finals. Our students have enjoyed great results. Song Guanqing from the College of Foreign Languages received the special prize for the postgraduate group and Huo Mengtong the special prize for the English major group. Zhang Cenyu of the School of Economics and Wang Yufan of the School of Finance received  the special prizess for non-English majors. Wang Yao of the School of Finance, Hu Binwu of the Business School and Zhang Shengning of the School of Economics won the first prize for the non-Englishmajor group.

It is reported that NECCS is the only comprehensive ability competition for college students in our country jointly organized by College Foreign Languages Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry Education and  College Foreign Language Teaching&Research Association. The special prize winners will participate in the national finals and summer camp activities on behalf of Tianjin this summer.
