Days fly like and arrow, and time and tide wait for no man. It’s really hard to believe that two third of the semester has passed.

Have you guys passed the mid-term with good scores or you just managed to not fail? Have you always stuck to the club activities or you just find it is hard to squeeze out some time? Have you kept your dorm sanitation acceptable or you just couldn’t make time to sweep the floor?

Recentlythe fellowship ball between NKU and TJU has ended with a complete success. With dazzling garment and lovely songs, we danced gracefully, looked into each other’s eyes. Someone got a chance to find a new date, and some had a good time with their friends. Joyful time has always been too short. It is over much too soon.

On November 8th, national scholarship laureates in school of foreign language shared their experience and motivation on how to win the scholarship. Their excellent work was fully appreciated by our school, and we all realized that time management is crucial in this progress. After all, we are in the same timeline with our laureates, yet it appears they’ve done more.

It seems like we are always in lack of time, and since the end of term is “impending”, the anxiety of doing better is, without doubt, growing.

On account of the unknown future and the almost-uncountable opportunities we are facing, whether in academic accomplishment or in social capital, it is normal to have negative feelings rather than a sense of freedom.

So, here are some tips to help you survive from this ambiguity as well as anxiety.

First, try to level up the perceptivity of time. As you may have recognized, time is a kind of choice, by that I mean you can’t really “do nothing” in a precise period of time. No matter you are sleeping, playing, learning or relaxing, you are the one who choose to do that. So it is crucial to find what you really want to focus and choose to spend time on it rather than spreading yourself too thin or just letting the time slip away. Actually, this is the elixir to alleviate the anxiety, which is endowing your time with more meaningful doings.

Second, try to relax. Anxiety wouldn’t do any good to what you are doing at the moment, but sometime it is just hard to ignore it. Meditation, stretching exercise and deep breath could be helpful to find you a way out. Simply as what the British said, keep calm and carry on.

Third, try to focus positive outcomes. There is a psychological training called Attention Bias Modification Training (ABMT), in which people are asked to focus on the happy expressions and ignore the angry or sad expressions. This find to be helpful to let people realize the positive things that might be ignored, and to let people feel more satisfaction and accomplishment.

Coping with time is a life time matter yet try to stand out in the approaching of every deadline. No one wants to be “not-extraordinary”, but to realize our limitation and where our interest lies in is the only way to have splendid life.

Hope we all can gain more and accomplish more in every semester.
