Italian young teachers attended the Fourth National Italian teachers' intensive training class

Fom October 13th to 15th, as one of a series of activities organized by Embassy of Italy in 2017 Chinese Italy language and Culture Week, the fourth session of China Italian teachers training held at Tianjin Foreign Studies University. Our school professional Italian young teachers Shidou and two foreign teachers Letizia Vallini and Roberto Parcu participated in the training and successful completed their studies.


The fourth Chinese Italian teachers' intensive training class attracted 36 Italian professional teachers from 20 universities throughout the country. At the opening ceremony, Tianjin Foreign Studies University president Chen Fachun and Italy Embassy Cultural counsellor Meng Feixuan (Franco Amadei) delivered opening speech respectively. The training course includes acquisition and communicative and pragmatic ability of Italian teaching and application of new technologies by Dr. Andrea Scibetta and Dr. Grassa Matteo La from Italy University of Siena .

In the class, teachers and students to discussed the characteristics of Chinese students’ learning of Italian, and the task oriented teaching method, network in Italian teaching and other topics to discuss. They put forward the ideas to break the traditional teaching mode on grammar and advocated pragmatic teaching combination and establishing the network teaching platform, and also to focus on teachers and students interaction. They further elaborated on how to implement the above proposals.

As a new established speciality in 2017, the Italian major in our University attaches great importance to the training activities. In the classroom, three Nankai Italian teachers speak actively, fully discuss the topic of the training of teachers, and show the elegant demeanour of Nankai University in front of all the Italian professional teachers. Speaking of this training, our school Italian teacher Shi Dou said that the training course came in time. The content is fresh and rich. As a new professional at our university, Italian major need to be in line with international standards in teaching methods and teaching methods from the very beginning. The two teachers from University of Siena in Italy have brought the latest theoretical and practical research results in their respective fields, which is of great significance to the instruction of Italian teaching in Nankai University.  

At the end of the course, the teachers reached a broad consensus on Further Strengthening Italian professional contacts across the country and cooperation between Italian and Chinese University teachers. After the training, Maria Luisa Scolari, the cultural Commissioner of the Embassy Culture Department of Italy, issued certificates to every teacher who participated in the training.
