Sponsored by the Ministry of education and Department of international cooperation and exchanges, the 2017 National College Russian contest held at Dalian Foreign Languages University on October 15th. The Ministry of education and the commission refers to the Russian sub committee and the Russian professional well-known experts and scholars as contest judges and supervision committee, more than 350 athletes in 138 colleges and universities nationwide competition, which breaks the record of the number of contestants. Liu Xueqing, Xu Weikai and Zhang Lulu of the Russian Department of Foreign Languages College of our university participated in the competition among junior, senior and postgraduate groups respectively. Russian Department teacher Zhao Chunmei and foreign teacher Olga served as tutors.
This competition is different from the previous ones, and on the basis of the original traditional experts' proposition, more problems will be attached. At the same time, in the final session, there are the simulation of real scene interview instant translation. This contest examines contestants’ basic language skills, and Russian and Chinese bilingual translation abilities. After two rounds of competition preliminaries and finals of the three players in our school were achieved excellent results in low grade group and high grade group and the graduate group in the game. Among them, Xu Weikai, a senior class player, won the three prize, and Zhang Lulu from the graduate student group and Liu Xueqing in the lower grade group won excellence awards.
Zhao Chunmei said that as to Russian national contest, the contest has become Sino-Russian annual event and Russian traditional culture brand, which attracts attention among teachers and students of the Russian Department . The tournament team players are quite competitive and the competition is fierce indeed. Our school classmate Xu Weikai achieved excellent results, and strived for the number of students studying abroad provided by the national fund for studying abroad, which is closely associated to the effort of the Russian department at Nankai University.
Xu Weikai, after winning the prize, said, thank you very much for the training of the school and the careful guidance of the professional teachers, and I have benefited from the competition a lot.. One minute on the stage takes ten years. Learning is a bit of accumulation. Through competition, we can find gaps, learn from experience, which is a good opportunity to learn and to adjust their learning methods that keep me continuing moving forward.
It is reported that the Russian national college competition is one of the projects of Russia national year and language activities, which has been successfully held for ten sessions. Through this activity 450 outstanding Russian talents are selected to CSC plans to Russia for further education and learning. These events become an important platform to boost the teaching reform, Chinese Russian personnel training, and Sino-Russian cultural exchanges.
