The launching of language training classes for year-one graduates of English language and Literature from Nankai -Glasgow Graduate School

April 12, 2017, Nankai -Glasgow Graduate School launched its language training class for year-one graduates. Approved by the Ministry of education, Nankai University and the University of Glasgow jointly set up a professional graduate enrollment plan issued by the state. The Glasgow project consists of four professionals, including English language and literature with the initial enrollment in 2017. The language course marks the successful enrollment in the first year. After several rounds of selection, a total of 9 students joined the final language training courses. The language training course aims at improving the students' English level and enhancing the basic knowledge of students.

  

Language training class lasts for four weeks, provided by Jennifer, Lecturer from language center of the University of Glasgow. The training course aimed to cultivate students’ academic regulations, to help students master English academic skills, and to focus on writing. The curriculum emphasizes the content and involves the knowledge of translation. In addition to academic English, the other three main objectives of the training course are to train students' autonomous learning, critical thinking and cooperative awareness. During the course, the students can understand each other better , practice oral English, enhance friendship and prepare for the beginning of the new semester. The students are well involved in the class. It is clear that they have done a good job of psychological preparation. They are full of mental outlook to meet the new English translation courses and a good new life at NKU.
